Our Story
Explore & Pour was born from a passion for wine, storytelling and bringing people together.
Every bottle of wine has a unique story to tell, from the vineyard and harvest to the moment it is poured. It is this belief that inspired our founder, Ross Sinclair to create experiences that connect people through wine while sharing the stories behind every bottle.
Your Guide
Ross grew up in a family that appreciated wine and was fortunate to spend his childhood living in various parts of the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and
South Africa. From a young age, he was fascinated by the mysterious drink his parents enjoyed and often found himself wondering,
“What is that strange liquid they are drinking?”
What began as childhood curiosity eventually developed into a lifelong passion. He pursued formal wine education through the internationally recognised Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), earning both Level 1 and Level 2 certifications.
His passion for learning continued to grow, leading him to further his studies with the South African Sommelier Association, where he successfully completed the South African Wines Level 1 and Wine
Ambassador qualifications.
Committed to continuous learning and professional development, Ross remains actively engaged in expanding his knowledge of both the South African and international wine industries.
Through Explore & Pour, he combines his expertise, passion, and love for storytelling
to create memorable wine experiences that inspire connection, conversation, and lasting memories.
